Why I'm Running
Families, Neighbours, and Neighbourhoods
My involvement in Ward 10 didn't start with this campaign. I am a fourth-generation resident, and I've seen our community come together time and time again.
The issues may change, but I keep coming back to the same thing: strong communities start with strong families, neighbours who look out for one another, and neighbourhoods where people can connect and belong.
I'm running because I believe City Hall has a role in making that possible. I want to listen, do the work and help keep Ward 10 a great place to grow up, raise a family, and grow old.
Where I started
Stoney Creek is home
I attended St. Clare of Assisi and Cardinal Newman High School and spent much of my youth on my grandparents' farm at the end of McNeilly Road and the South Service Road.
As a kid, I was involved in many local sports. They showed me how much clubs, teams and community organizations can shape a young person's life by giving them a place to join in, contribute and belong.
Where I am now
This is where we wanted to raise our family
After high school, I attended the University of Waterloo to study computer science and eventually started my own IT consulting business. Along the way, I met my wife, and we started our family.
When it came time to decide where we wanted to raise our children, we chose Stoney Creek and the street I grew up on. We live next door to my parents, down the street from my brother, and around the corner from one of my sisters. Today, several generations of our family call Ward 10 home.
How I got involved
It started with my kids
I coached my son and daughters in hockey, soccer, and flag football. I joined the boards of Hamilton's Flag 5 on 5 and the Stoney Creek Sabres Girls Hockey Association. I have served as president of the Stoney Creek Sabres since 2022. Through these experiences, I've seen families give their time at food drives, community cleanups, parades and the Winona Peach Festival.
Working with volunteers has taught me that you can't simply tell people what to do. You have to listen, earn their trust and work together towards common goals.
